Elm

Elm is a deciduous tree that grows up to 35 meters in height. The wood is very hard, so as such it was often used in wheelwork and carpentry (veneer, carving). It works well and irons nicely. It also accepts water colors. Stocks and carriages are made from it. In addition, elm straw was used to feed livestock (especially sheep), and its quality is comparable to good meadow hay. The beaten sheet was used in cellaring. The use of the second layer of elm bark in folk medicine is also known - for the treatment of skin diseases. In recent years, this type of wood has become increasingly rare, as many trees die out, for reasons still unknown. Lives up to 500 years.
